Optimistic quality local storytelling

TheLococo has published summer editions of its two quarterly titles, Camdenist Presents and The Wick.

Camdenist Presents GROW focuses on the broad topic of growing things in the neighbourhood, whether that be vegetables from seeds, or a business from scratch. The theme takes readers from a modern allotment project to a selection of Camden’s hidden green spaces. It also meets some cultivators of illegal crops and a team developing masks for cows. Eclectic and engaging stuff, we’re sure you’ll find. The print title has also been upgraded to an eco-certified A4 magazine format which looks very smart.

The Wick issue 6 explores the lessons we can learn from Hackney Wick’s tradition of live/work warehouse living, looks at the unevenly experienced legacy of the London 2021 Olympics a decade on, and highlights loads more brilliant local creative projects and the artists driving them. The Wick is now being distributed by local zero-emissions e-cargo bike company Zhero, demonstrating a commitment to circular economy principles and extending our reach across the Olympic Park and down to the Royal Docks area.

Why this excites us

  • Despite price rises of up to 100% on paper stock, print still resonates strongly with local audiences, so we’re celebrating our commitment to physical media as an essential part of the overall mix
